~ NOT YOUR TYPICAL IKEA KITCHEN ~

A  fun and sophisticated take on a bistro kitchen and powder room

This well loved family kitchen in Cabbagetown needed an update. A few years ago I worked with the homeowner's friends on a kitchen reno in little Italy. They referred me, and when it was time to get to work, Cabbagetown came calling.

This fun and light filled space is filled with custom touches. We started with Ikea cabinets in the kitchen and powder room, then made them unique by in-setting pulls, trimming cabinets to fit, and custom plating fixtures (check out the legs on the vanity!). The bold tile on the floor, the textured subway tiles on the wall, the waterfall counter, and the swing arm sconces lend a sophisticated whimsy. There's lots of smart hidden features in here too, like the cabinet that's accessible behind the stools.

Brass and hits of red echo through the clean black and white space.

The kitchen balances modern and traditional styles.

It's unexpected. It works.

(Just for kicks, here's how the kitchen looked before)
